Learn about superstitious gravestone symbolism and view some of the most amazing 17th and 18th Century gravestones in Northern New England. Meet Elizabeth, just one of the very active spirits of the burial ground and find out why she's there.
View handcarved skulls and crossbones, winged skulls, the hourglass that ran out nearly 300 years ago, and cherubs - some angelic and others startling. Decide for yourself if this is a peaceful resting place or a place where some spirits don't rest quietly.
Our spirited tour is about one hour long. Make sure to bring your camera along and dress for the outdoor weather! Meeting at the Point of Graves cemetery on Mechanic Street, adjacent to Prescott Park off of Marcy Street along the Portsmouth waterfront. Bring your camera, video camera and flashlight for our rare night time excursions into the graveyard.

Meeting at the Point of Graves burial ground on Mechanic Street, next to Prescott Park, off of Marcy Street along the scenic Portsmouth Waterfront.
