Legends, Ghosts and Graves Tour

This extended tour visits many historic locations in downtown Portsmouth and includes a trip to New Hampshire's oldest graveyard the Point of Graves. We have unearthed local ghost stories, true tales of tragedy, crime, murder, mystery, witchcraft, and lost loves especially for this journey.

What is the tale of the Gloucester House? Where was the ghostly huntsman going down the shadowy streets? Did Harry Houdini perform in Portsmouth, and does his spirit still haunt one particular location? How have 19th century fires changed Portsmouth's landscape? What strange legends come from underneath local streets? Were there witches on the Seacoast before the Salem witch trial hysteria? What was it like living in the nation's first poor house, and where was it located? What happened at a fateful party in the 1800's to a man who lost everything - including his mind? Answers to all these questions and much more. Learn about the evolution and transformation of this "Old Town By The Sea" we promise you won't look at it the same way after the tour.

Walk with your costumed guide for two and a half hours of spectral stories you won't hear any where else that will leave you wondering about local haunted history. This tour is terrific for groups! These walks meet at our parlor at Molly Malones, 177 State Street in Portsmouth.

Due to private tour commitments, we will not be offering this tour in 2008.

$20.00 for Adults, $10.00 for children under 12. Advance reservations strongly suggested, as tours sell out quickly. Bring your camera, video camera and flashlight for our excursion into the graveyard.
